Brooklyn-based no-wave / post-punk band Gustaf have returned with their new double single, ‘Here Hair / Hard Hair’. Technically, these are two separate tracks, connected by a moody, gently comedic video directed by the band’s own Lydia Gammill, despite their dramatically juxtaposing sounds. The first four minutes are dedicated to a slow-motion crawl of a track, that crafts a unique atmosphere that is underpinned by percussion and peppered with delicate guitar chords. The chaser is an energetic punk attack, with ferocious, angular guitars bursting to life beneath a dizzying, shouted vocal. The band are heading out on a UK tour alongside Yard Act in March, and are dropping their debut album, Package 2, on April 5th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
